SABC has cleared the air on reports that Sjava was fired from the hit TV show Uzalo.
The state broadcaster says Sjava had a short term contract with the television production.
Reports had alleged that the contract was terminated due to the performer’s ongoing court case with Lady Zamar.
The SABC has spoken out against claims that they axed Sjava, real name Jabulani Hadebe, from the popular SABC1 soapie Uzalo.
The media personality was reported to have joined the stellar cast of the show but claims were later made that he was fired. Reports alleged that Sjava’s contract was terminated due to Lady Zamar’s ongoing court case against him.
Acting SABC spokesperson Mmoni Seapolelo has refuted the claims that the musician was fired.
According to Seapolelo, Sjava’s contract was for a limited time frame.
The claims made by Lady Zamar have left Sjava in a tough situation where hardly anyone wants to be associated with him.
Having allegations of this nature made about you can cripple your career as well as your everyday life. With the femicide and abuse against women being so rife in SA, being accused of it is like someone putting a target on your head.
The musician has lost endorsements as a result of the claims by Lady Zamar.
