From boring storylines to mass exodus of actors the SABC has decided to keep Uzalo on its card amid axing rumours. Late last year SABC threatened Uzalo with cancellation after a drop in viewership and behind the scenes drama.
Of late star, actors have complained of receiving their salaries late and this has affected the show. Rumour has it that seasoned actors dumped the show in the eleventh hour because of salary woes.
However in the mix of things fans have often complained against the show and some of its actors. GC is rumoured to be exiting the show barely a few months after being called in after his fallout with the showrunners before.
Despite all this SABC cleared the air yet again that Uzalo won’t be chucked out after the channel made a record profit they didn’t have for years.

SABC 1 telenovela Uzalo is not going anywhere. The channel’s officials reportedly revealed this in a recent press briefing in Durban. Some of the viewers of the show have used social media to voice their concerns over the show’s “boring” storyline and some have been calling for SABC to pull the plug on the telenovela.
According to reports, the channel is happy with the programme’s performance as it generates revenue for the channel. The channel reportedly made R43 million recently which they last made five years ago. The channel’s Gugu Ntuli urged viewers to continue watching the channel’s programmes.
In other news, it was reported that Confirmed: Uzalo firebrand Khaya Dladla (GC) fired again. It seems as if Uzalo woes are far from over and it’s now embarrassing. No doubt the mass exodus of actors of late tells a lot. In the wake of his much-talked-about return, it seems as if GC has been axed again after featuring on few episodes.As of now little is known about his exit but sources close to the showrunners have confirmed the exit. When the character of GC, played by actor Khaya Dladla, came back to Uzalo viewers had different reactions.
While some were happy, others were not satisfied with his storyline. Well, Khaya has allegedly been snubbed by Uzalo again. In 2019, the soapie snubbed and told him he’d be called back when he was needed.
