SABC announces a new line-up of shows for 2021
In the wake of trimming air hours for seasoned soapies like 7de Laan and Muvhango, SABC has revealed a new line-up of new local shows it will be airing to keep Mzansi entertained.
SABC has managed to wow Mzansi for years with thrilling drama series such as Generations, Uzalo and Skeem Saam. In the same fate, the public broadcaster seems to have new local shows to bolster the already existing content. No doubt they are striking balance when it comes to local content airing.
SABC stuck to its guns when fans vowed to petition the return of 7de Laan to its old slot. 7de Laan will now be broadcasting from Monday to Wednesday. In response to the petition, the public broadcaster has introduced another Afrikaans drama series Die Santrum which will be aired from Thursday to Friday. The new show will be airing at 18.00 hours.
“Audiences can look forward to the introduction of a new series Die Santrum. The show will premiere on the 5th of April and will be aired on Thursdays and Fridays. SABC re confident that the show will be a drawcard to keep South Africa entertained just like 7de Laan,” said The Group Executive for Video Entertainment, Merlin Naicker.
