Romeo Medupe leaves Scandal Hungani Ndlovu resigns from soapie
Hungani Ndlovu who portrayed the character of Romeo Medupe in popular eTV soapie Scandal! has left the show.
The sad development was confirmed by marketing manager Makatseng Mokomoe who said Hungani Ndlovu resigned from Scandal!.
She did not rule out the possibility that Romeo would return on Scandal! in the near future. Mokomoe said Scandal! will not bring anyone to replace Hungani Ndlovu as Romeo Medupe.
Sources who spoke to Sunday World said Hungani Ndlovu was not happy with the way he was being treated by Scandal! and felt he deserved more. The actor told those close to him that he felt unappreciated despite playing the popular character Romeo, which was bringing in all the numbers on the show.
Another source said Romeo quit Scandal! to avoid drama. The source said there were people who were targeting Hungani and he resigned to make things easy for them. The publication tried to reach Hungani Ndlovu for comment but their efforts were unsuccessful at the time of publishing.
Currently, Romeo is missing on Scandal! which left fans of the show wondering where he is.
There were reports in August this year that Romeo was leaving Scandal!. eTV denied the reports stating that the actor was still with the show and that he was neither fired nor had he quit. The initial reports were met with anger from the fans of the show with eTV having to quell their anger.
Sometime back, Ndlovu had a misunderstanding with former colleague Masasa Mbangeni who portrayed Thembeka on the show. Mbangeni also left the show before Ndlovu.
Mbangeni denied these reports and said the decision to leave Scandal! was a personal one and did not have anything to do with a misunderstanding with Ndlovu.
