Residents queuing to buy bread from delivery trucks at exorbitant prices
With the protests fast fizzling out South Africans across KwaZulu-Natal and Gauteng are now facing problems in obtaining basic commodities. Yes, it has become a hustle to buy bread and other commodities as malls and local shops cant offer the commodities due to the looting spree that brought business to a standstill for the past few days.
We can all agree that the sad reality is now kicking in for looters and law-abiding citizens. Sadly, even those who did not condone the violence and were not part of it are going to suffer.

During the second address of the nation, the president mentioned that these coming weeks are going to be tough. We are going to suffer food security and medical insecurities.
However, businesses that provide us with food have been destroyed and all the stock has been taken. In the mix of things, the shortage of such commodities has led to local businesses charging exorbitant prices. Well in some instances malls that are offering basic goods are running short of goods and services as they can’t keep up with the demand.
