R5 000 reward for missing ABSA ATM custodian expect
No doubt Absa bank can do better in this case. There is an uproar after it was established that there was an offer of R5 000 only for missing Absa Atm custodian expect. We can all agree that Absa can turn up the hit by improving the reward for Zhandre Jacobs.
The police and the public at large are in search of the 30-year-old of Bot River, who went missing earlier this month. However, despite his car being found the very same day, there’s still no trace of him. It’s two weeks now since he went missing and the police are still connecting the dots about his whereabouts.
Taking it to the media his wife Tracey-Leigh April, 24, believes her husband was abducted in connection with her job. Zhandre works as an ATM custodian at ABSA bank in Kleinmond.
“On that Wednesday, Zhandre’s manager called me to ask if he is at home because he disappeared from work,” she says. He was last seen at the OK in Kleinmond around the same time his manager called me. His phone has been off since then with no trace of him in the Kleinmond area.”

The couple got married three months ago after dating for five years and share a daughter. Tracey-Leigh says search teams and community members are looking for Zhandre.
“I firmly believe someone abducted him to get information or money out of him. His job most definitely could’ve put a target on his back. He knows the inner workings of the machines and how money gets transferred.”
However, she believes the abduction was something planned. How can he just vanish in thin worse whilst at work. She went on to rubbish rumours of a suicide note found in his car.
“The unfounded and unsubstantiated rumours that are doing the rounds have taken the focus away from Zhandre. There was no note found in his car.”
SAPS’ Joseph Swartbooi says the case is being investigated by Kleinmond Police. Tracey-Leigh says the family is offering an R5 000 reward for information leading to Zhandre’s safe return.
However, the case beforehand has led to some serious suspicions. Why is that Absa is not also offering a reward given the weight of his job. Many have it that this might be an inside job from some Absa big guns. Could it be true?
