Bushiri guard poisoned: ECG Church leader Shepherd Bushiri is mourning the loss of his Head of Security after alleged poisoning. The name of the guard is Jeremiah Ogechi, an Igbo man from Imo state of Nigeria. He was found dead by his wife at his home in Rossetenville on 7 May 2020.
A member of the Enlightened Christian Gathering Church has revealed the guard was found lying down with foam in his mouth.
ECG church confirmed the death of their Head of Security:
“According to the family, Mr Ogechi died at his house in the early hours of May 7. Further, the family has informed the church that the post-mortem has been conducted but they are yet to get the results. The church condoles the family of Mr Ogechi and, once the family releases the funeral programme, the church has already committed to provide support of any emerging costs where needed,”

The church also revealed that Ogechi was the head of Almighty God Security Protection Company which is contracted to offer security services to the church.

Bushiri leads one of the largest churches in Pretoria. The controversial preacher, is often critisized for his money making gimmicks. During the national lockdown, he courted controversy after requesting for tithes and offerings from hard hit church members. He recently launched a church subscription services where only paid up members can access the gospel.

Bushiri has also been accused for stage managing miracles in a way of drawing followers. He denied all the allegations and accused his enemies of plotting his downfall.
