Smugglers who are known to assist Zimbabwean border jumpers into South Africa have changed their business model. Since there are no jobs in South Africa due to the lockdown and the sale of alcohol prohibited in South Africa, the smugglers have been supplying the Musina town with beer.
Zimbabweans are also crossing into South Africa to buy cheaper basic goods. Zimbabwe is currently experiencing hyper inflation which has made prices of basic goods not affordable to many.
