Where did Uzalo actress Zekhethelo ‘Nyalleng Thibedi’ disappear to?
Nyalleng Thibedi, who became a well-known face on our screens, played the role of the witty, sweet Zekhethelo on Uzalo. Initially, her character was living like a spoilt girl. She was the only child of a notorious gangster who cared for her deeply. Her dad spoiled her with a luxury convertible, and she met a gorgeous love interest.
After a few seasons of the show, the character faced more and more turbulence. At some point, she was poor and in turmoil with her dad. At some point, she discovered Nkunzi was not her biological father. She was going to get married to a pastor, but it was later discovered he was her adoptive brother. In the end, Zekhethelo exited the Uzalo storyline.
When she left the soapie, it wasn’t the first time she left Uzalo. She left before and came back after some time. Nyalleng seems to be taking too much time to return now.

Complains about the character
Viewers of the soapie used to complain about her bad accent. Nyalleng spoke the IsiZulu language without fluency. With storytelling, all the accents have to be aligned with the characters speaking out. The basis that Zekhethelo is a Zulu name and they couldn’t get a proper Zulu speaker unsettled a lot of viewers.

After leaving the gripping SABC 1 crime telenovela, she became a Land Rover ambassador. Land Rover gave her one of their luxury vehicles, and she promoted it online. When there are campaigns and events from the brand, she is always there as a family member.

Contrary to popular belief, Nyalleng is actually in her early 40’s. A lot of people were shocked after making this discovery. She does not look a day over 25. Now that she is not working as an actress, she dabbles in modelling. One of her best modelling looks was a recent afro wig with a sparkly dress.

On social media, she shares the content of herself working out and eating clean. She also promotes Land Rover and spends ample time with her son. Nyalleng doesn’t seem like she misses acting, but you’ll never know. She might surprise us one of these days.
