Pictures, Umbuso actor ‘Mothusi’ Sphamandla Dhludhlu’s business empire gets Mzansi talking.
Sphamandla Dhludhlu has been making headlines with his role in Umbuso playing Mothusi. His character is married to Thembelihle, who is not faithful to and constantly cheats on with people she knows, not caring what the consequences are. With the talent he shows in taking on his role, many fans of the show are interested in other works he has done before on Television.
Dhludhlu realized that his passion lay in acting when he was still a young boy in school. He then decided to pursue an acting related course in his tertiary education. He then took on a program with the Fuba School of Drama and Visual Arts based in Johannesburg. Dhludhlu started landing roles in theatre production, playing minor roles before opportunities opened up for him in Television, starting with supporting roles.
Sphamandla’s first roles were in Umlilo and then Generations the Legacy, but his roles were minor and did not bring him much fame. However, in 2015 he landed the role that was the first significant playing the role of Themba. He was Suffocate’s little brother in Rhythm City. His first lead role was in a feature film called Rise, where he played Gazi.

In 2019 Sphamandla landed the role of Mavusana on one of Mzansi’s hit series, The River. Then he went on to play the role of Caesar in the Mzansi Magic series The Station. He plays a young man willing to make it despite having a father who used a wheelchair. In February, he debuted as Jabulani Bhengu, a trickster trying to exploit Sanele, then was announced as part of the Umbuso cast playing one of the lead roles.
When he is not playing pretend on Television, Sphamandla has other businesses as an entrepreneur. He owns Cpha cleaning company that specializes in cleaning people’s houses. On top of that, he also owns and runs a car washing business by the same name.
