Ever since Scandal had a mass exodus and characters like Quinton left the show, viewers thought it was going to be a for the reason of a better show. When the Kubeka family crashed into the show, it looked that way for a couple of weeks as their storyline kept fans glued to their screens. However, Scandal viewers threaten to boycott the show now as they feel their storylines are getting old and repetitive.
When the official Scandal social media pages post updates on their Instagram and Twitter accounts, fans are vocal about their boredom. One fan, in particular, commented that they remember a time when the show was exciting to watch. On their Twitter pages, the followers say that the show has become boring. The show has been too focused on the Mdala one and the Kubeka crime.
Nhlamulo and Mdala’s beef started when Nhlamulo ratted out Mdala to the police to get himself out of jail. The plan worked out for him for a while, and he married Lindiwe. They did not hear from the criminal until his computer school was burned to the ground. Mdala resurfaced to cause havoc into Nhlamulo’s life when he learned who got him arrested.
Scandal viewers now find the show boring.
However, viewers feel that the revenge plot is being dragged and boring. From the plotting with Nhlamulo’s baby mama to getting Lindiwe kidnapped and lying, it was Nhlamulo. Lindiwe, who has permanently been blinded by money, can not seem to see beyond the gifts Mdala keeps giving her and trusts his every word. Scandal viewers want the storyline to end and see the truth come out.
This is not new for the Scandal production team and their viewers. Last year the viewers threatened to stop watching the show if Bohang did not leave. The character who was raising awareness of the issues of GBV was killed off on the show. He earned the name ‘Dumelang Seipati’ and was hated by the whole nation. Whether the viewers will get their way or not, we only have to wait and see every night at 7:30 pm on etv.
