Babes Wodumo has clarified the situation and informed her trolls regarding the reason behind her weight loss. Babes wrote on radio personality Jacinta Ngobese’s Facebook post that she was hurt to see people, mostly women, making fun of her pregnancy-related weight loss. Mampintsha has also defended Babes in public. Babes talked about the bullying she experienced due to losing weight and how it affected her.
An image of Babes visiting the Ukhozi FM studios surfaced. She appeared in the photos wearing a brown blazer, a brown skirt, a cream-coloured polo shirt, brown boots, and a simple hairstyle, but her overall appearance caused a backlash. She claimed that she lost a lot of weight due to depression when she was eight months pregnant. She said in that photo she was eight pregnant with her son, but due to her extreme depression, she lost a lot of weight instead of gaining it.
“It was then that I made the decision that, should I ever become pregnant again, I would only do so with a loving and caring man who would spoil me and treat me like I was about to bring a precious child into the world. It has always been my dream to know unconditional love for myself and my dear child, “she continued in her post.
Babes claimed that she had been made fun of but also received much support from others. Jacinta posted, “So the people who are making fun of Babes because they don’t know how difficult being a mother is and how much of yourself you lose during that time. All you need is to be surrounded with love, kindness, and people who care about you so you can at least have beautiful memories of that time.” She then called out the individuals who are making fun of Babes Wodumo without provocation. We all experience so much, and sometimes all you need is to be okay, happy, and surrounded by love. I’m actually crying as I write this. Please refrain from mocking someone else’s circumstance simply because you are unfamiliar with it or have never experienced it. I send Babes my best wishes for happiness and love. Light and Love”
Then, in her response to the post, Babes Wodumo noted that most of the offensive remarks directed at her come from women. “Throughout my pregnancy and immediately following giving birth, I lost weight. It hurts to witness women making fun of my appearance, “She spoke. “Is it because I’m a famous person or a young mother just getting started? I enjoy being a mother and am unsure what they expect from me.” Others are quick to pass judgment, declaring that I am ill, in need of assistance, or abusing drugs simply because I recently gave birth and my body is still healing. I am not worried about losing weight because my sister and some friends have had a similar experience!
