South African rapper and serial businesswoman Boity Thulo has been expanding her business empire over the years, and it’s working for her. She is one of several celebrities with an alcohol brand in their name, which has proved profitable since its inception. Boity Thulo’s BT Signature has expanded across South African Borders and is now available in Zambia.
Boity Thulo has done a lot in the South African entertainment industry with her hand in almost every cookie jar. Her entertainment industry break-through happened when she landed a Wimpy commercial gig. This was after she signed up with a casting agency after dropping out of school due to financial issues at home.
Boity’s first jobs on Television
Before moving on to the Media Career guide show, she became a presenter for ITV’s Crib notes. After that, she landed presenting and hosting gigs a lot in shows like Club 80i, Big Brother Africa, Change down and many more. Her acting career debuted with a role in Rockville, which may have been minor but paved the way for her first leading role in Dear Betty, where she played Betty.
Boity’s music career only started in 2017 when she announced herself as a rapper and went on to make songs and albums. She was an opening act alongside Nasty C at a Migos Culture Tour, and her single Wuz Data was the first ever by a female rapper to be certified Platinum. In 2019 she made the list of Forbes’ 30 under 30 in the creative category because of her contribution to music and entertainment.
