Police had to be called in to ease the tension between disgruntled parents and residents who were baying for a local Sangoma’s blood after bodies of missing kids were found in her backyard.
Parents and residents from Ga-Moeka, North West in recent weeks have been searching for two missing children who went off the radar in a mysterious way.
Of late search, groups have been doing search patrols the area day and night hoping to find the kids but they surely did so in a painful way.
Parents of Puseletso Tsotetsi and Mpho Mangwane were left shell shocked after they learnt that their children’s bodies were found in one of their neighbour’s backyards. What angered the community most was that the neighbour knew well the kids were missing but was not even bothered to offer assistance.
However, parents of the now-deceased believe that the local sangoma had a hand in their children’s death. It has been established that the kids went missing on Sunday. The family and the community at large launched some search patrols but they all hit dead ends as they could not find the kids.

One local resident noticed something odd after coming across a local sangoma sweeping and burning some rubbish at midnight.
“While we were searching some people saw a sangoma woman burning rubbish and sweeping at night, which they found strange.”
Motlapule indicated that the next day they were informed that the kid’s bodies were found at the very same house of the sangoma.
“We found them dead and it was traumatizing and it’s still. But it doesn’t add up how can she not hear or see the kids given the fact that they were found in a toilet pit.”
The community was angered by the sangoma who didn’t even look surprised or bothered, Mpho’s Easter Mojali said she was heartbroken.
“What hurts the most is when we were doing some search patrols they said they never came across the kids. She was standing far away from us unbothered.”
After the bodies were found the community did community justice by burning their house down and the police had to be called in to ease the tension. The sangoma and her husband were taken into custody for questioning. The community want them to rot in jail.
The police confirmed the incident but no arrest has been made yet. The matter is now under investigation and all suspects will be called in for questioning.
