Broadcaster Zororo Makamba’s room at Wilkins hospital have been revealed. The 30 year old died in Harare after being diagnosed with coronavirus.

SavannaNews.com takes a look at his hospital room. One exception that has saddened Zimbabwe is the bucket toilet currently being used at Wilkins hospital.
The standards at Wilkins hospital are so low that the Makamba family reported the hospital cannot take care of a corona virus patient. They also reported that there are no electricity sockets in the rooms at the hospital.
The family revealed that the government proposed that Zororo be transferred to Beatrice hospital but it never materialised.
“The government is not prepared at all. I even called the President and first lady Auxilia Mnangagwa and they assured me he will be transferred to Beatrice Hospital.”

The Mayor of there City of Harare Herbert Gomba refuted the claims that the hospital had no proper toilets. He said it is the world practice to manage the waste from patients through such systems as the stool cannot be allowed to go into the main sewer. He said, “Those criticisms are wrong this is what must be done and being done across the world,the person’s wet and stool must be managed,the clothes,they wore and those worn by staff must be disposed correctly/burned,burial must be supervised to avoid further contaminations”
