With the cancelation of Queen Sono, Pearl Thusi has been nothing but working hard to get the show back on for a second season. The actress has gone as far as starting a petition for Queen Sono.
Queen Sono was Africa’s first Netflix original with Pearl Thusi playing the lead. It came with a great hype that it failed to live up to. This resulted in the show being cancelled before it could see the light of a second season.
The cancelation of Queen Sono left some entertainers out in the cold for example Vuyo Dabula, who was said to have left Generations for the Netflix show. As such, the cast including Pearl Thusi have created a Queen Sono petition to get Queen Sono back on our screens. However, the petition was met by mixed feelings like the show itself.
Nope. I felt the acting was subpar. I’ve got absolutely nothing against PT, angimazi akangazi asazani. But I do feel that we need to step away from supporting things by virtue of them being local. If we keep pandering, what we produce will never be world class. @I_amAudreyRose
I’m not going to sign any petition for Queen Sono. Pearl Thusi must go to Nigeria they will sign that petition. Nonsense @Iam_sboch
Only South Africans will boycott local content in favor of foreign content and complain about lack of opportunities! South African’s & self hate nobubinne plaas with PHD syndrome ontop. @2lz2
So it should be renewed because of a petition and not on merit?@Cartblantche
A good reason for the negative feedback to the Queen Sono petition was the Twitter wars that have found Pearl Thusi insulting followers. Disagreements oved issues on colourism anf so much more have seen Pearl lose the number one Mzansi pearl status. However, it seems the Queen Sono actress is in Thailand shooting a movie and getting the bag!
