The national date might spill over to Valentine’s Day between Pearl Thusi and Mr Smeg. After the monumental success of the first date on 29 January 2022 between these two, fans need and want more.
The date came as Mr Smeg, whose real name is Michael Bucwa, took a leap of faith and asked Pearl Thusi out on a date. The rest became staff that could be written in the Guinness book of records.
Fans have taken to Twitter to suggest a second date on Valentine’s Day, and guess what. Pearl responded and said, ” I wouldn’t mind”. Mr Smeg also responded by saying “My Valentine” with heart emojis. Pearl brought in great South African brands to sponsor the date.
On Saturday, after the two had lunch at Daruma, their date continued to Konka, the new hottest spot in Soweto and from the posts on social media, these two had a blast.
People were most impressed by Pearl’s down to earth personality, and famous Twitter accounts like the CrhisExcel one, now called the president of CBD twitter, have accepted her as one of their own now.
People were, of course, not impressed with Oskido’s intrusive behaviour and were up in arms, saying he must be hindered from knowing the location of the date.
Oskido was called disrespectful and unwelcome when he all of a sudden overtook the date and kissed Pearl.
It looks like Pearl enjoyed Michael’s company so much and has started a bud of s trend with the #nationalLunchdate since now other celebrities have been called to come forward, and others do that all by themselves.
Millicent Makhado, who played Agnes Mukwevho on the popular soapie Muvhango, went to her social media to express how impressed she was with this date and ended up saying she also wishes to go on a date as well.
Everyone was thoroughly entertained, and we also must say that the content had been created by this date. At this point, the second date between Pearl and Mr Smeg is still just a wish but wishes come true, as we have witnessed.
