He was born in Matatiele, Eastern Cape, South Africa, where he spent most of his childhood. His father, Skhumbuzo Jali, comes from the Xhosa tribe, making him a Xhosa. Andile Jali’s career started in 2007 when he joined the Pretoria University football club. He played for Pretoria University for two years and was later signed by Soweto giants Orlando Pirates in 2009. While playing for Orlando Pirates, the club won three trophies in one season. Currently, he is playing for Mamelodi Sundowns Football Club as a midfielder. He has been playing for the club for four years and is among the most paid players on Mamelodi Sundowns F.C.
At the international level, Jali was among the South African squad that played at the FIFA U-20 World Cup, which was held in Egypt in 2009. Andile Jali was selected in the preliminary 30-man South Africa Squad for the 2010 FIFA World Cup, but unfortunately, he missed out on the 23-man squad because of a mild heart condition which ruled him out of the competition.
Andile Jali is a superstar with a cabinet of awards as evidence of his unmatched footballing skills. He also proved that he was a master of his craft when he played in the 2015 African Cup of Nations.
