Norma Mngoma blows the gaff on Former Minister Malusi Gigaba and the Guptas
Norma Mngoma testified on Monday night at the Zondo Commision of inquiry into state capture, mainly about her family’s connection to the Guptas. The Gupta family is accused of having captured the state during former president Jacob Zuma’s tenure.
During the inquiry Norma revealed that the former Minister Gigaba was given a white BMW as a gift for their firstborn son. She also added that Gigaba frequently visited the Gupta household in Saxonwold and received bags of hard cash.
Among other allegations, Gigaba kept packed stacks of cash in his home from Ajay Gupta meant to fund elections for the ANC. Norma also claims she was told by the Guptas how Brian Molefe would be the next CEO of Eskom months ahead of the announcement.
According to Mngoma, Gigaba shared a friendly relationship with Siyabonga Gama to the extent that he used the former Transet CEO to score a job for his sister at the parastatal.
The most shocking testimony is about how her wedding with Gigaba in 2014 cost between 4 to 5 million Rands paid mostly in cash. She says that it was not unusual that the wedding cost that much as it was two weddings.

“I did not find it strange because Malusi has been a minister for a very very long time and also he told me that he had savings with the money market that he saves money from. Also most of the expenses are paid by the state, so having a lot of cash was not something that was odd,” she said.
Mzansi is shocked by this react to the testimony on social media. Here are some of the reactions,
“Normally she should be charged and arrested. She confessed that she was a beneficiary of corruption money.”
“Technically we paid for the wedding. So sad yazi”
“I am sure Mngoma is working with somebody to take Gigaba down.”
“I think the wedding was a front. The real reason was to move money hence why most payments were in cash.”
