Norma Gigaba has been freed on bail
Former Minister of Finance, Malusi Gigaba’s wife Norma Gigaba was arrested on Friday night in Pretoria and spent a night in jail
Norma Gigaba has been arrested by the Hawks and is expected in court on Monday facing charges of assault and malicious damage to property.
Malusi and Norma’s marriage took another fatal blow after the former minister was allegedly caught red-handed cheating with another woman.
In response to the betrayal, Norma damaged Malusi Gigaba’s Mercedes Benz G Wagon, a video that went viral on social media.
Norma Gigaba was arrested by the Hawks on Friday at 6 pm for malicious damage to property and assault, Savannanews can confirm. She is currently detained at the Brooklyn police station in Pretoria.
Speaking to Savannanews, Hawks spokesperson Brigadier Hangwani Mulaudzi revealed that there could be additional charges to the case.
Mulaudzi confirmed that the former minister had been assaulted, but would not elaborate on the extent of the injuries inflicted.
“The suspect, who cannot be named, has been arrested after a warrant of arrest was executed.

Embattled Norma Gigaba will spend the weekend in police cells ahead of her court appearance at Hatfield Magistrate’s Court on Monday.
A family friend revealed that the case is more than the viral video and Norma is suffering from untold depression.

Savannanews previously reported that Malusi Gigaba and Norma”s marriage has been a troubled one from the beginning. Reports indicate that Norma was Gigaba’s side chick and got pregnant. A marriage was borne out of the pregancy.
Gigaba was also once caught cheating with United States based model Buhle Mkhize but the scandal did not break his union with Norma. A war of words erupted between Norma and Buhle Mkhize after the later bragged about bedding by then Home Affairs Minister. Gigaba reportedly flew Buhle from the United States to South Africa for a special weekend.
