Recently Real Housewives of Durban star, Nonku Williams, opened up about being abused in her previous marriage. The actress took to sharing a video of her opening up on Instagram captioned, “My journey of survival and triumph.”
Nonku Williams recently launched her wine brand, Ashes 2 Beauty. The wine launch was an intimate but luxurious affair with friends. The launch was shown on Real Housewives of Durban.
Nonku Williams speaks out about being abused
During her speech at the launch, Nonku spoke about how she would cry when alone, how she’s weathered tough times and how God loves her. “Please allow me to share my journey. It’s not easy. As I speak I’m actually holding tears because the journey is hard,” she said. Just after she began her spedch, the reality star and business woman burst into tears and had to take a moment. When she continued her speech, she narrated her abusive experience.
“I went through a horrible marriage. I was abused mentally, physically and emotionally. I was told I would never amount to anything. Today you’re looking at a woman who has found her identity. Who has found herself. I know who I am. I know what I stand for. Yes, the battle is hard. Everyday I have to remind myself. You have a life, you have a purpose you are blessed everyday I look myself in tge mirror I remind myself of that… “
Other than the speech, Nonku’s wine launch proved to be a cringe fest with the MC mixing up her wines. Nonku had not prepared for Nonkanyiso Conco and while everyone’s wine was packaged in personalized wooden boxes, Nonkanyiso’s wasnt engraved. The diva was quick to say she doesn’t care because all she sees is wood to make a fire.
Viewers have gotten to know Nonku Williams over the last few weeks of Real Housewives of Durban. Over the episodes of the reality show, Nonku has brought her fair share of drama to the show. When the series began, Nonku Williams showed a bit of hostility towards Sfiso Ncwane’s widow, Ayanda Ncwane who is her co-star. With time Nonku dropped a bomb. The business woman revealed that she is the mother to the late gospel singer’s child. This was later confirmed by his family who mentioned that they had lost contact with Nonku and would like to rekindle theie relationship with the child.
