Actress Katlego Danke plays the role of Thathi on Gomora; she made waves on Generations, where she played Dineo Mashaba. The 43-year-old actress is qualified with a degree in BA – Theatre and Performance from the University of Cape Town and is an entrepreneur cum businesswoman in real life.
On Gomora, the Thathi character is a mother of two who was married to a banker and businessman Mbongeni – the role played by Themba Ndaba; her life changed when a botched hijacking claimed her husband’s life. The award-winning actress who received the best actress award at the South Africa film and TV awards (SAFTAS) in 2010 was born on 7 November 1978 in Mafikeng. In 2014, Katlego gave birth to a baby boy, which she allegedly had with South African billionaire Patrice Motsepe.
