New crush alert! Mzansi is gushing over the character Qhawe Zulu from the Showmax hit series The Wife. Qhawe is Mqhele’s younger brother and, the role is played by Kwenzo Ngcobo. Ladies initially loved the character Mqhele, but as the series unfolds, Qhawe has been duped as the only Zulu brother that matters.
Qhawe Zulu on The Wife
Qhawe is one of the Zulu brothers alongside Mqhele, Nkosana, Nqaba, Sambulo, Mpande, Ntsika, and Mqoqi. All brothers are involved in the taxi business and crime affiliation, but Qhawe oozes humility more than the lot. Underneath all the underhanded dealings, he has a calm and kind heart. His humility and sweetness seem to be why he’s Mzansi’s current crush.
Kwenzo’s audition for The Wife
Kwenzo Ngcobo initially auditioned for the role of Mqhele; the producers didn’t see him as a good fit for the role. He was allowed to audition for the role of Qhawe, he fit into it like a glove, and just like that, he got the part.
Coincidental chain of events
On The Wife, Qhawe was the one to first fall in love with Hlomu. He looked at her for the first time, and it was love at first sight. His heart was overwhelmed with a liking for Hlomu but, he didn’t do anything about it. Whilst he was still observing Hlomu from afar, Mqhele came and swept her off her feet. It’s similar to his audition for the series; he first auditioned for the role of Mqhele but got the role of Qhawe.
Dashing looks
Kwenzo is very easy on the eye. He has a head full of hair, even-toned brown skin, the most stunning facial features, including a beard. He also has a well-built body, and the ladies are impressed. Associating his real-life handsomeness and his character’s humility and sweetness won him a spot in Mzansi’s females.
