Mzansi unimpressed with Dj Speedsta’s Big Brother Mzansi performance
Big Brother Mzansi viewers were not impressed with Dj Speedsta’s BBM set and performance. People had so much negativity to share about his set, and a handful of people, we’re genuinely happy about it. “I see you, Speedsta, you’re boring them, son,” one fan reacted.

Typically in Mzansi, the magnitude of the amapiano genre is ten times higher than that of hip hop. As a result, prominent hip hop artists like Cassper Nyovest, Big Zulu, Ricky Rick, Kwesta Dakar and many more have dabbled in the Yanos space.
In clubs and music shows all across Mzansi, amapiano is the chosen show stopper. When DBN Gogo played her set, it was a fire set, and it got Mzansi up and jumping. Many people were disappointed that Dj Speedsta and his old song set were after the Khuza Gogo hitmaker. A final set or performance should be more heat than the previous ones.
Playing old songs
When Speedsta was playing his set, he played old hip hop songs that were once hot in Mzansi, when the genre was at its peak. He also played his music Mayo; it’s been seven years since Mayo was released. So viewers went from dancing to all current hits to slowing the pace down for throwback tracks.
Refusing to play Cassper Nyovest songs
Speedsta and Cassper Nyovest used to be close. They released the song Special Somebody together in the year 2015.
In 2021, Speedsta went on Cassper with guns blazing on Twitter, calling him weak. Speedsta also heavily criticized Cassper’s sneaker brand and said he would never purchase a pair. He played nostalgic Mzansi hip hop songs on the set, and none of them was Nyovest’s. People noticed that snub.
Unauthorized music site
BBM viewers also noticed Speedsta played songs from the unauthorized music site Fakaza. Mzansi thought it was unethical as the site takes away food from many artists’ mouths. He is yet to address this if he will ever address it.
