Menzi Ngubane’s roles in Ubambo lwami, Generations and Isibaya made him a favourite of Mzansi. News of his death shook South African. The family revealed that he died from a stroke having faced kidney problems for years. Top of the list of tributes to the legend were his on screen loves, Thuli Thabethe and Sonia Mbele. Thuli Thabethe played Beauty in the Mzansi Magic soapie, Isibaya, alongside Menzi Ngubane. Sonia Mbele played his much beloved Ntombi Khumalo on Generations.
