Mzansi reacts to a R100 000 reward for information leading to the arrest of people involved in a fuel truck hijacked.
Car hijackings have been a serious problem in Mzansi. Each week cases of car hijacking are being reported. This has caused the public to be unsettled and be scared. A fuel company has put forward a R100 000 reward to whoever bring information about the hijacking of a fuel truck.
According to the post, the incident occurred on the 15th of June at around 22.40hrs along the N12/Moroka Bypass in Johannesburg. The alleged robbers offloaded the fuel into a white tanker pulled by a White Scania horse head. It is also reported that there were two more cars.
Only a picture of a man wearing a mask was caught on camera. As a result people have reacted to the reward in a rather different way. Instead of jumping for the opportunity, the public blames the authorities and think information will not be given.

Others are questioning the safety of citizens and wonder if South Africa will ever be safe. For sure the numbers of cases of hijacking being reported are frightening. Here are the concerns and responses from the members of the public:
“The real criminals are hiding in plain sight pretending to be civil servants. With R500 billion vanishing without explanation. They are being protected by the same Thuma mina media. Sisenjeni.”
“Will SA ever be crime free? It’s worrying that this is a daily occurrence.”
“Truck hijackings syndicates, South Africans were are not save criminals going in group’s 10 to 20 terrorising everyone. WE NEED STATE OF EMERGENCY CRIMINALS ARE OUT OF CONTROL.”
“With these mask wearing thugs…how is the public going to recognize criminals?? CCTV footage is useless at this point.”
“They doing some fast and furious shit hey. Ask the police to check for drag racing parties, you’ll probably find them there. Probably look for a dim witted bald man wearing a tight white a vest, drinking Corona. I’ll have my money now thanks.”
