Mzansi Magic confirms Real Housewives Of GQ
Its getting bigger and better. It seems as if the The Real Housewives franchise has has found its foot in South Africa and its not holding back. Of late it seems as if it has found a new international home in the name of South Africa.
Despite being four times smaller that the United States, it has fast become of the prominent countries with the most significant concentration of Real Housewives franchises outside of the US, where it originates from.

Taking to social media Mzansi Magic revealed that a new series of Housewives was slated for this year. No doubt, Mzansi was amazed at the news. Taking to social media on Thursday, 5 January 2022, Mzansi Magic did confirm the upcoming arrival of The Real Housewives of Gqeberha.

For a moment, Mzansi and Africa considerably thought it was a joke. To back it up, they released the official teaser for the upcoming unscripted reality television show.
Sana! Hold on to your wig, Gqeberha’s sophisticated Queens of Reality are coming to serve glam, the fashions and them coastal reads honey. Get ready for the Real Housewives of Gqeberha, coming to 1Magic in February 2023.

While there might be mixed feelings currently about the upcoming premiere of the debut season of The Real Housewives of Gqeberha, here is a list of the other Real Housewives South African franchises that it is joining.
The Real Housewives of Durban
Arguably, the most successful local franchise, The Real Housewives of Durban first premiered in 2021 marking the second local Real Housewives franchise to premiere.

The success of the two already available seasons of the show even resulted in the reality show trending in the US following BravoTV releasing season one back in 2022.
The Real Housewives of Cape Town
The Real Housewives of Cape Town was the first of the 2022 premiering extensions of the franchise. Moreover, it was the first to have its premiere on Mzansi Magic rather than on Showmax. As such, it did not get as much coverage as its predecessors arguably.
The Real Housewives of Pretoria
Touted as the most luxurious and fitting of its Real Housewives association, The Real Housewives of Pretoria was the fourth and most recently premiered series. It was also the first of the local franchises to have an entirely white and Afrikaners cast. Despite this, the franchise was well-received and seemingly garnered a bigger audience than Cape Town.
