Mzansi begs Black Coffee to congratulate Zakes Bantwini after his Grammy win. From being best friends to sworn enemies, no one knows the reasons behind Grammy-award-winning DJs Zakes Bantwini and Black Coffee. The two have been feuding for a decade, from Twitter jabs to trolls. Of interest s the fact that the two were once close friends who produced several hits together. In the wake of their newfound fame, they had a fallout that no one saw coming.
Black Coffee has been implicated in the mix against Zakes Bantwini’s win at the 65th Grammy Awards. Zakes bagged the Best Global Music Performance award for “Bayethe.” He collaborated with Wouter Kellerman and Nomcebo Zikode. Tweeps have since begged Black Coffee to congratulate him on his historic win.
In the wake of his Grammy win, Zakes took to social media to celebrate his big win. He even dedicated the award to his late parents.
“Took me 15 years to find my path; I stayed true to myself & my dreams, despite all the hardships that presented themselves. I have no words to express the emotions and grace that have come over me. This moment is owed to my late Mother & Father. Your efforts, sacrifices & lessons you handed down brought out the very best in me. I’m grateful,” he wrote.

Last year Black Coffee also bagged a Grammy award. In 2022 he won the Best Dance/Electronic Album category for his project titled Subconsciously.
However, in the wake of his big, he had once opened up on why he would not be playing Zakes’ smash hit Osama in his sets. Replying to Sol, Black Coffee maintained that Osama was fire, but it wasn’t his vibe.
“Yeah my musical reputation is based on what I like. It’s always been like that, and also, not all songs I like belong on my sets but last I said in my initial tweet Osama is a fire tune.”
Following Zekes’ win, tweeps urged Black Coffee to congratulate Zakes. However, in the mix of things, some wowed him for not congratulating him since he didn’t do the same for him after his win.
