Muvhango’s Star Actress Vho Masindi Bags A PhD Degree
Celebrated star actress Regina Nesengani popularly known for her on-screen character Vho Masindi on SABC 2 hit soapie Muvhango was recently conferred with a PhD degree by the University of South Africa (UNISA).
Vho Masindi is one of the longest-serving members of the SABC 2 Venda hit soapie Muvhango. She plays as Chief Azwindini’s mother. The seasoned actress was one of the outstanding students in her faculty.
The star actress made headlines for herself with her doctoral dissertation which was written in her home language, Tshivenda. The thesis was focused on Gender-Based Violence (GBV).
Rumour has it that Word Of Mouth Pictures and SABC is planning big slated for 9 December to pay homage to Vho-Masindi for her historic and momentous achievement.
Vho retired from teaching in 2014 so as to pursue her acting career. The seasoned 66-years-old actress discovered her passion for acting in 1974. The latter then joined SABC 2 Venda hit soapie Muvhango in 2008.

“While doing this I was also a teacher because I also loved teaching. I only retired in 2014 because I was 60. I then started acting full-time.”

When asked in an interview the actress said she doesn’t plan to retire from Muvhango and will never leave the soapie unless they write her out.
“They made me a household name and I’ll forever be grateful. That’s why I’ll die there. People should expect to see me on Muvhango until I take my last breath.”
Nesengani further stated in an interview that being on the soapie has been a great journey,
“Old women I bump into praise my character and say she must continue protecting her son. Young ladies call Vho-Masindi mean.”
