Tonight Muvhango will be airing its 4000th episode.
The Soapie has become a part of our lives. It all started on the 7th April 1997, when we were introduced to a royal family in a village named Thathe, Mashudu Mukwevho and his wife, Masindi. Mashudu was a polygamist, and he had another wife in Johannesburg by the name of Catherine Mukwevho. Mashudu gave birth to Azwindini from Masindi and Edward from Catherine. After his death, the fight broke between the two women where he should be buried.
Muvhango became a fan favourite because it introduced people to the beautiful Venda culture and language.
Muvhango is the first Soapie in South Africa to use the Venda language.
Muvhango was a series until after its third season when the SABC decided that it should be a soapie due to its popularity.
Muvhango used to go out three days a week from Monday to Wednesday. On its 10nth anniversary, April 5th 2007, it started to air for four nights.
Muvhango was created by Mr Duma Ka Ndlovu, a playwright a television and movie writer. A true story inspired the story.
Muvhango introduced us to new talent that became celebrities and people of value in the entertainment industry.
Muvhango has become a force to be reckoned with in the soapie world, and it showcases catchy storylines that leave the viewer hooked and holding on to more.
The 4000 episode of Muvhango sees Vhutshilo, Azwindini and his wife Susan’s son caught facing possible charges of rape from Gugu, who is also his father’s girlfriend. Kgosi holds Vhutshilo back from getting himself into more trouble.
James and Tshireletso are continuing with their plans after Tenda. The hidden information is revealed at the Motsamai household, and Imani doesn’t want to be a part of any of it.
The board at MMC makes some decisions about Tenda. Tenda confessed to many sins when the Angel of Justice was proving him. That could be what the board had to make decisions about.
