Murewa man found dead near girlfriend’s homestead
A man from Murewa (45) was found dead near his girlfriend’s homestead at Zihute Village. The body was found with a stab wound on the groin and a blood stained log measuring approximately 1.2 metres from the body.
The Zimbabwe Republic Police confirms the incident. Taking to their official Twitter account, they issued a statement which reads,
“The ZRP urges members of the public to cherish the sanctity of human life. On the 28th of March 2021, a Murewa man was found dead near his girlfriend’s place at Zihute Village.”
“Investigations are in progress. The body was found with a stab wound on the groin and a blood stained log measuring about 1.2 metres.”
It is suspected that the unidentified man was attacked on his way to see his girlfriend. As of yet no suspects have been apprehended. Such cases are usually due to infidelity or jealousy between lovers.

Since the lockdown began in 2020 cases of violence between couples have enormously increased. A Chinhoyi man was recently arrested for murdering his wife over orange juice and biscuits meant for their school going children. The couple had been stayingtogether for about 15 years.
It is always the small issues that lead to unbearable consequences. Also as of late the ZRP has been warning people to try and respect human life. On the 27th of this month a male adult body was discovered at Emganwini. The body did not have a shirt and nine deep cuts on the head.
A half brick stained with blood was retrieved near the body. The motive behind the murder is still unknown and it pains that some people have the nerve to do that to another human being. People of Zimbabwe must resolve issues amicably without use of violence.
