A 49 year old man died after he was castrated by his lover in Mt Hampden last week.
The man was a senior Nyau dancer.
Christopher Muchenga was made to meet his maker from his lover’s house after his private were pulled out.
The perpetrator only identified as Mbuya Ropafadzo had another lover who is believed to have been at the scene when Muchenga met his fate.
Another version of the incident suggested that Muchenga‘s privates were pulled while Mbuya Ropafadzo’s other unnamed lover was said to have been holding Muchenga’s hands making him equally responsible for murder.
Family spokesperson Margaret Kamwaza, 50, revealed that Muchenga has gone to his lover’s house to spend some quality time as he had received a windfall from his sales.
“We have lost a loving brother and circumstances to his death is painful considering that he was merry making with his lover after receiving money meant to support the family,” said the family spokesperson.
Muchenga reportedly received money from a piece job and went to a shebeen, hooked up wit Mbuya Ropafadzo before heading to her home.
“They spent the whole night and upon arriving at the lover’s house they were reported to have made noise that awakened neighbours and the lover pulled him his private parts and breathed his last.
After the incident, Ropafadzo is reported to have dragged Muchenga’s body to the door step and went to report to the police that he found a dead man at his house.
“As a family we are not happy about it since most of the family members and neighbours were aware of their relationship following the death of the deceased’s wife. We buried him here in Mt Hampden and is survived by four children,” said Kamwaza.
Nyau-dancers entertained mourners at the funeral and his nieces wore the same attire and hairstyle bidding farewell to their uncle.
