It appears Mo Flavour will be leaving Metro FM to replace DJ Fresh and Euphonik at Primemedia. Sources speaking with the Daily Sun have revealed that there are conversations about Mo Flava replacing DJ Fresh and Euphonik at Primemedia although nothing has been finalised.
DJ Fresh and Euphonik parted ways with Primemedia last month when the duo was facing rape charges. At first the duo announced that they are taking a break from public work.
In light of the serious allegations put against us we have made a decision to step away from all public work engagements until such time that this matter has been resolved and the law has taken it’s course, ” DJ Fresh said
Prime media first suspended the pair before finally announcing the permanent separation.
Johannesburg – Primedia Broadcasting can confirm that, after careful consideration of the events of the last few weeks, the company has decided to release DJ Fresh and Euphonik from their contracts. Their last shows on 947 were aired on 15th January and 10th January 2021 respectively.
“This decision does not reflect a view on the veracity of any allegations against either Euphonik or Fresh. Rather it prioritizes Primedia Broadcasting’s business imperatives. We believe that this decision is in the best interest of our company and our various stakeholders ,” Primemedia said in a statement.
After the dismissal, Primemedia has been looking to replace them and clean up their image. Primemedia’s Publicity Manager, Keagile Makgoba confirmed that the station is actively seeking ro replace the radiohosts although they havent identified a particular individual to replace them.
Thando Thabethe was once listed as a potential replacement by the rumour mill but it appears Mo Flava has become a potential replacement for Euphonik and DJ Fresh.
The Daily Sun’s source highlighted that Primemedia is desperately looking to clean up its image after the rape scandal. Mo Flava presents a very good option as he is a highly respected DJ with a clean image. The DJ who hosts the Morning Flavour show on Metro FM is happily married and barely has a scandal to his name. Mo Flava has been in the industry for a long time and so his vast experience and his brand image will prove to be useful to Primemedia.
