Ndavi Nokeri, who has crowned Miss South Africa in 2022, has joined YouTube to fulfil a promise she made to the nation. She aims to help level the playing field by ensuring equal educational opportunities for all individuals, regardless of race or economic status. As part of her Ed-Unite campaign, Nokeri will host conversations with experts in the education sector starting on Tuesday, April 25th. These discussions aim to give learners and their parents or guardians the information they need to make informed decisions.
Each episode in this series of audio-visual podcasts will focus on a specific theme related to education. Nokeri will address topics that impact the daily lives of students, learners, and educators. The episodes will be rich in information and offer insights into the resources available within the education sector and how and where to access them.
Ndavi Nokeri, Miss South Africa 2022, will explore a variety of topics on her Ed-Unite Talks YouTube series. One of these topics is student funding, a complex issue that will be discussed with the help of Karabo Mohale, Executive Deputy Chairperson of The National Youth Development Agency, and Lennox Wasara, a Mastercard Foundation alumni. Another episode will focus on careers and the changing world of work in the digital age. A career coach and CEO of Hesed Consulting, Vumile Msweli, will join Nokeri to answer frequently asked questions in this area.

Period poverty is a subject that Nokeri feels strongly about and will dedicate an entire episode to on Ed-Unite Talks. She will be joined by Candice Chirwa, also known as the Minister of Menstruation and Founder and Director of Qrate, who is a menstrual activist. As part of her campaign to address period poverty, Nokeri handed out sanitary/dignity packs to learners at Mashooro Secondary School in Ga Mokgwathi Village near her hometown of Tzaneen, Limpopo, on International Women’s Day in March this year.
The safety of children within the school environment is a global concern and will be addressed in an episode of Ndavi Nokeri’s Ed-Unite Talks YouTube series. Nokeri will host attorney Karabo Ozah, Director of the Centre for Child Law, and Xolani Fakude, an educational psychologist at the South African Democratic Teachers Union, to discuss this important issue.

Nokeri believes that these YouTube conversations can make a difference. She states that the Constitution of South Africa includes a Bill of Rights that outlines the human rights of its citizens, including the right to education. Nokeri wants to honour this right through her Ed-Unite campaign and ensure that every person in the country has access to an excellent education.
