Radio personality Misred has been dragged by Zimbabweans for trashing the ZimbabweanLivesMatter movement.
She was interviewed by Ghanaian radio station Y 107.9 FM and said she is of the opinion that there’s a very big disconnect between what’s going on the ground and what’s going on social media.
After the interview, the radio station posted:
Misred believes it is important for the world to ask about the Zimbabwe situation from Zimbabweans, “That’s the most important thing because people do not understand what is happening in Zimbabwe. The protests is because of abductions and torture. There is rampant corruption, dilapidated public health system, there is unemployment and food shortages. Its almost a collective citizens movement across political parties.,” she said.
Asked what the President meant when he said he is going to flush out opponents, Misred said, “Its a very difficult to understand what is happening in Zimbabwe if you are not living in Zimbabwe. Social media is full of youths and people in the diaspora and there’s a very big disconnect between what’s going on the ground and what’s going on social media.”

Misred went on, “If you read on social media you would think we are in the middle of a war. People on social media are people in urban areas. if you go to the rural areas some have not heard about Zimbabwean Lives Matter. The President was speaking to the other demographic. The President looks at the complete population. The number of people on social media are very few. I also feel there is a very big conversation on human rights that needs to be addressed.”
Some Zimbabweans have been angered by Misred interview with the Ghanaian radio station and they have showed her on social media.
