Mediclinic under fire for employing apartheid killer doctor Wouter Basson known as ‘Dr Death’
Mediclinic South Africa has been dragged for employing apartheid killer doctor Dr Wouter Basson popularly known as Dr Death for his role in a horrific project to reduce black people’s population.
Wouter Basson is a South African cardiologist and former head of the country’s secret chemical and biological warfare project, Project Coast, during the apartheid era
Basson was tried and charged for his involvement in apartheid South Africa’s Project Coast that looked at scientific and genetic ways of reducing the rapidly increasing black South Africans population that was posing a threat to the settlers’ government.
Speaking in his own words, Dr Death confirmed that he was working on an ethnic biological weapon to reduce the black population by causing women to be infertile. “That whole episode of the ethnic weapon was set out in court papers. What happened is we had the objective to synthesis a certain protein that was in the sperm for contraceptive purposes. We wanted to immunise women against a sperm to make her infertile,” Dr Death said.
Basson was getting the orders from the highest authority in the land, being Frederik Willem de Klerk, the former State President of South Africa during the oppressive apartheid regime.
Mediclinic listed Dr Bassom as a Cardiologist on their website.
Confronted on Twitter, Mediclinic responded to a user on Twitter:
“Good day, by law doctor are independent practitioners & cannot be employed by Mediclinic Southern Africa. We cannot prohibit HPCSA registered doctors, including Dr Basson, from practising unless they are prevented by law from doing so. Kind regards, the Mediclinic SA team.”
