Mwonzora nominated for MDC-T congress: The MDC-T Harare province has nominated Douglas Mwonzora ahead of their extraordinary congress slated for the 31st of July 2020. The minority opposition party was directed by the Supreme court to revert to its 2014 structures which saw the reinstatement of Douglas Mwonzora as secretary general and Thokozani Khupe as Acting President.
Mwonzora scored big ahead of rivals Elias Mudzuri and Thokozani Khupe. He garnered 189 votes as Mudzuri was endorsed by 23 people and no one voted for acting President Thokozani Khupe. Nelson Chamisa, the leader of the largest opposition MDC Alliance was fired from the MDC-T.
Results from other provinces are still to be announced.

Colonel Von Strohm: Personally i have reservations about this nominations thing, anyone and everyone should be allowed to fund their own campaign and go for any seat they desire…just like Americans do!!
George Chinyande: It reminds me 1990 or 1 UZ SRC elections Dagi for President. Of course due to tribal politics on campus it was more of Dagi chete chete. But today we are grown ups, mature, full of life experiences, progressive ideas, we may not care who rules the roosts. The best candidate must.
