MDC Alliance MPs fired from parliament. MDC Alliance MPs Hwende, Khumalo, Mutseyami recalled from parliament. Three MDC Aliance Members of Parliament have been recalled according to Deputy Minister of Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services Energy Mutodi. It is most likely that Thokozani Khupe or Douglas Mwonzora has sent a letter to Mudenda to recall the MPs.
The three MPs are members of Zimbabwe’s largest opposition party MDC Alliance.

Details are still sketchy at the moment as our new crew is still gathering information. Reports suggest the MPs have been targeted by Former Secretary General Douglas Mwonzora, Former Vice Chairperson Komichi and Former Vice President Thokozani Khupe for defying the controversial supreme court ruling. The MPs were seen as opposing the ascendancy of Khupe via the controversial court ruling.
The Supreme Court ruling
The Supreme Court ruled that the MDC-T part is supposed to revert to its 2014 Congress party structures. The three MDC alliance MPs recalled from parliament vehemently opposed the arrangement. The Supreme court ruled that MDC Alliance leader Nelson Chamisa’s rise to become the MDC-T leader after the death of Morgan Tsvangirai was illegitimate and Thokozani Khupe is the recognised as the Acting President of the party.
On the day of the ruling, former Chamisa loyalist Morgen Komichi was seen at the court together with Chamisa’s rival Douglas Mwonzora celebrating. Komichi read a letter rallying all disgruntled MDC-T members to support Thokozani Khupe.
The Supreme court ruling is argued to be moot
The ruling is argued to be moot, as it is not enforceable due to a series of events that have happened since 2014. Khupe’s term as Vice President, Mwonzora’s Secretary General position among other positions would have expired. Morgen Komichi was also not the chairperson of the party but Lovemore Moyo.
Chamisa went into elections as MDC Alliance President, and the rest of the MPs were elected under the the MDC Alliance party as Mwonzora admitted.
Does Khupe has power to recall MDC Alliance?
The controversial judgement which the MDC Alliance feels is Zanu PF’s way of suppressing the opposition, is not clear on whether the Acting President Thokozani Khupe has the power to recall the MDC Alliance MPs.
Zimbabweans have reacted shockingly to the news that MDC Alliance MPs Hwende, Khumalo, Mutseyami have been fired from parliament.

If the recalling succeeds, it will mean Zanu PF has successfully changed leadership of an opposition political party regardless of the technicalities involved. The MPs have a chance to reclaim their constituency seats through by elections.
