Mbuya Nehanda statue will be erected at the intersection of Julius Nyerere and Samora Machel roads in Harare, sources close to the development have told Savanna News.
The news comes as various reports falsely claimed President ED Mnangagwa’s statue would be erected on the same place.
Sources revealed the statue will be erected by the Ministry of Local Government in honour of First Chimurenga heroine Nehanda Nyakasikana.
Nehanda is largely regarded as the face of the first resistance against the colonialism in Zimbabwe.
