Mbhazima Shilowa has joined a series of politicians to criticize the Covid-19 national lockdown under the Disaster Management Act. The former Gauteng premier Mbhazima Shilowa expressed his anger on how the government has managed the regulations and restrictions of Lockdown Level 4.
Shilowa questioned the some of the government’s decisions to determine reopening of some industries while leaving out others.
He claimed that the government is dictating on people, forcing them to stay at home and treating them like small children.
On his Twitter account, Shilowa questioned the reason behind the reopening of factories, mines and shops, saying: “So if it is okay to allow all factories, mines and shops to open, why not metro rail, shosholoza meyl [Prasa], schools and legislatures.”

“To hell with government keeping us indoors like we are kids. We will not allow a dictatorship to rule us! No more working from home, straight to office,” he said.
