The Ministry of Health has alerted the public that there is a pregnant woman in Masvingo who exhibited coronavirus symptoms and has since been isolated.
The woman came from South Africa on the 7th of March 2020. She visited Masvingo General Hospital today and samples were taken. She was complaining of a dry cough, shortness of breath and chest pains but with no fever. All these are coronavirus symptoms. The process in Zimbabwe is that the samples will be taken to Harare for testing and results will be communicated. It is most likely that the results will be confirmed on Wednesday.
Masvingo is yet to record a positive coronavirus case. Harare is the only province to to have recorded a coronavirus case. All the three confirmed cases are from Harare.
