Marry Mubaiwa Not Yet Recovered, Undergoing Treatment
Vice President Constantino Chiwenga’s embattled former wife Marry Mubaiwa has not yet recovered enough to stand trial.
Her lawyer Beatrice Mtetwa made the revelations when she appeared in court on Tuesday on behalf of her client whom she said is undergoing life-saving treatment.
Mtetwa also revealed that Mubaiwa is walking around with a catheter to drain stuff from her hand while she receives treatment.
“The accused has not fully done her treatment and she is walking around with a catheter draining stuff from her hand,” she said.
Mubaiwa’s trial in which she is accused of assault failed to kick off due to the absence of the prosecutor.
Her sickness is alleged to have emanated from the injuries she sustained in the White City bombing in Bulawayo in the run-up to the July 2018 elections.
Magistrate Marehwanazvo Gofa postponed Mubaiwa’s trial to the 30th of November.
Meanwhile, Mubaiwa was also remanded to 30 November in another case in which she is being charged of attempted murder for ‘trying to kill’ her ex-husband while he was battling for his life in South Africa.
There were reports in July that Mubaiwa was unwell and could not stand trial.

The nature of her illness was not revealed.
Mubaiwa is also supposed to answer to assault charges, after she allegedly bashed her former maid Delight Munyoro.
Munyoro alleged Marry Mubaiwa attacked her at Hellenic School after a heated argument over Marry and VP Chiwenga’s three children.
When the alleged assault happened, Ms Munyoro had gone to pick up the children from Hellenic School as part of her duties.
She then came across Marry Mubaiwa at the school, who demanded to see the children.
Munyoro denied Mubaiwa access as she was under orders from VP Chiwenga not to do so until his legal wrangle with her over the custody of the kids was resolved.
Marry is said to have flown into a rage and started attacking Munyoro who claimed her teeth loosened from the attack and she had a cut on her lip.
Marry Mubaiwa denied attacking Munyoro and said the women had an argument on the latter’s divisive tactics with the kids but it didn’t escalate into a fight.
