A suspect has been arrested in connection with a murder of a woman and a girl in Belhar, Cape Town. Police discovered a bodies of a 27 year old woman and a 7 year old girl believed to be a mother and daughter at a house in Commerce Street, Belhar.
The police said the woman was stabbed multiple times and her body found inside the house whereas the girl’s body was found in the bathroom
A 28-year-man who is believed to be an ex lover of the deceased woman will appear in court over the murder on Monday.
The murder happened as cases of gender based violence are increasing in South Africa with the latest being woman who is believed to have been killed by her boyfriend and was found dumped in Dobsonville in Soweto.
