Actress Pabetsi Nolo Matlalia joined season 3 of the SABC 1 youth drama series Skeem Saam. We first saw her when she was interviewing Leeto Maputla when he was still a DJ. During the interview, he moved on her, and she agreed on a date with him. After a few weeks, both Leeto and Mokgadi got into a romantic relationship, and they were later engaged. After a short engagement, she became his wife.
She made headlines when she opened up about her troublesome love life in real life. In 2020 she got married but made headlines again when she claimed her husband nearly killed her.
Marriage to Lloyd Mbatha
In 2020, she got married to the television director Lloyd Mbatha. Their marriage was blessed with a daughter. Unfortunately, they had a big abuse Scandal only six months after tying the knot. Pabetsi claimed her husband assaulted her so severely that she nearly lost her life.
Career before Skeem Saam
Before joining the SABC 1 drama series, Pabetsi had one foot in the media world. She was working as a radio presenter on Capricorn FM. She stayed in that position whilst exploring the world of plus-size modelling and being a voice-over artist. After joining Skeem Sam, she couldn’t juggle both careers in acting and radio, so she chose drama. For a first time actress, she nailed her role.
Skeem Saam disappearance
After her son Noah went to prison, she appeared on the soapie a few times. She appeared during the Meiki Maputla attempted murder court case to try and stir some trouble. After Meiki was sentenced, she no longer appeared on the show. Her character is still very much alive, so she might come back sooner or later.
Academic history
Despite her work being only in the media, she holds a Bachelor’s degree in a different industry. After finishing high school in 2003, she enrolled in university as a psychology student. She bagged herself a Psychology Degree from the University of South Africa (UNISA).
