Lunathi Mampofu is a South African actress who played the role of Emma on The River. While we all thought Emma is dead, it turns out The River is about to become a war path with Emma returning to the 1 Magic soapie. With Seputla Sebagodi joining the soapie as Lindiwe’s rival, one can only wonder how the return of Emma will go. Emma is the manipulative and lethal ex wife of Zolani, played by Lawrence Maleka. Saying Emma was Lindiwe’s least favourite person was an understatement. The two fought to be the lead in Zolani’s wife until Zolani left them to kill each other. While Lindiwe thought she killed Emma, it turns out that was not that last of Emma. Emma’s return date is yet to be announced. Lunathi’s work in the industry is not just in front of the screen but behind the screen as well. She has worked as a casting director at Gersh Studios in Los Angeles as well as at Scout’s Honour in Seapoint, Cape Town. Other than playing Emma, the actress has graced our screens as Benni in The Queen, Zikhona in the SABC1 drama series Ingozi, and her role as Claudia in 1 Magic’s Unmarried.
Family
Lunathi is sister to twin brothers Prince and Oros Mampofu who plays Banele on Rhythm City as well as an older sister known as Tankie Mampofu. Lunathi and her brothers are starting their own production company and we are excited to see what they get up to.
