Mayors fired by Chamisa reinstated: In another shocking development in the democracy of Zimbabwe, the Minister of Local government has been directed to reinstate the mayor of Victoria Falls Somvelo Dlamini, as well as Masvingo Mayor, Collen Maboke. The pair were fired by Nelson Chamisa for not following party directives and allegedly siding with former secretary general Douglas Mwonzora.
The story that mayors fired by Chamisa have been reinstated was confirmed by Zanu PF patriots Twitter page today. The development comes after another shocker where the MDC-T president Thokozani Khupe successfully recalled members of parliament from another political party MDC Alliance through the speaker of parliament.
Meanwhile the MDC Alliance party has called its members of parliament to boycott parliament activities as the party engages in a consultative process on the way forward. The announcement was made by the MDC Alliance Vice Chairperson Job Sikhala.
The developments, such as the reinstatement of mayors which are being instructed by the Khupe faction and executed by the Zanu PF government, are happening whilst the country is under a national lockdown.
