Muvhango’s Teboho played by Liteboho Molise will be leaving the SABC 2 soapie. The actress is said to be cast in another production.
Liteboho joined Muvhango more than 8 years ago. The actress’ role as Teboho Mukwevho on Muvhango has grown over the years. A love-hate relationship between her character and viewers. It will be a very bitter separation between the actress and Muvhango as she considered the soapie home. Teboho’s first audition for the soapie did not go well as she did not immediately get the role. She was called back a second time and she still did not get the role until the third time. For eight years the actress has not appeared on other on screen production as she chose to focus on Muvhango. However, the time to leave the soapie has arrived and the actress is rumoured to be cast in another production.
Liteboho Molise who plays Teboho leaves Muvhango
Liteboho leaves Muvhango at a time when the soapie’s days are being cut. From airing 5 days a week, Muvhango will be cut to 3 days a week. This is due to the SABC moving to diversify their shows.
Muvhango will now air on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday only while the Xitsonga drama series Giyani: Land of Blood will be taking Muvhango’s Thursday and Friday’s slot. Ginyani is coming in for a second season after renewal. Giyani was brought back due to popular demand. A petition was made, which read,
“The drama has stolen the hearts of multitudes of South Africans and teaches other tribes the ways of the Tsonga, Venda, Mapedi and Balobedu-speaking people’s culture and their daily challenges. It has found a way to teach us to unite and acknowledge our differences as tribes.”
7 de Laan is another show that has fallen victim to the SABC program shift. The show will also be cut down to 3 days a week as it will air on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. The Afrikaans drama series Die Santrum will be coming in to take the Thursday and Friday slot. This was also communicated by the SABC’s Group Executive for Video Entertainment.
“Audiences can look forward to the introduction of a new series Die Santrum. The show will premiere on the 5th of April and will be aired on Thursdays and Fridays. SABC re confident that the show will be a drawcard to keep South Africa entertained just like 7de Laan,” said The Group Executive for Video Entertainment, Merlin Naicker
