Vuyo Ngcukana, popularly known for his role as Schumacher on The Queen, has reached a new milestone in his career. He recently announced on Instagram that he has ventured into directing.
A New Chapter
Vuyo shared the film flapper of 1 Magic’s 1802: Love Defies Time, which features his name as the director. “It’s really real. The training wheels came off,” he wrote in the caption.
He also expressed his gratitude to Lungelwa Hela and Wandile Magadla for giving him the opportunity to explore this new direction in his career. “Thank you for giving me wings to take off into a whole new world,” he said.
Gratitude and Excitement
In his Instagram stories, Vuyo thanked the producer and director who guided him through this transition. “I’m beyond words, my gratitude to you can’t be measured. You’ve opened the door to a dream, thank you,” he wrote.
Vuyo’s fans have been eagerly anticipating his return to the small screen after The Queen ended its seventh series on January 13th. In an interview with Metro FM, Vuyo reflected on his time playing Schumacher and how the character taught him about the complexity of human beings.

A New Role
In addition to his directorial debut, Vuyo also announced that he has landed a role on a new show called 1802: Love Defies Time. “You guys have been asking ‘what’s next’ and now I can finally give you an answer,” he wrote on Instagram.
Vuyo also mentioned that he is coming from a place of healing and that he is feeling comfortable doing interviews again. “The scars are healing,” he said.
