The late, Mzansi actor, executive producer and co-founder of Ferguson Films, Shona Ferguson, bags international nominations at the Hollywood and African Prestigious Awards. Shona has been nominated for Best Lead Drama series, while his series Kings of Joburg is nominated for Outstanding Drama Series in Africa.
The Hollywood and African Prestigious Awards honour American and African community leaders, international political figures, dignitaries, celebrities and stars. The Awards also thrive on giving recognition to performers who have made a significant impact in many lives through their work. Shona Ferguson being nominated for the HAPA awards says a lot about the impact of his work.
These prestigious awards will be held on Friday the 22nd through to 24 October 2021. they will be held at The Orpheum Theater, 842 Broadways, Los Angeles, CA 90014.

Shona Ferguson is a man who started from very humble beginnings. He began as a club DJ in Lesotho. The actor then moved back to Botswana, where he is originally from, and he focused on the business world, particularly the IT business. He won a lot of awards in the corporate world. His break-out role in acting was Dr Leabua in Muvhango. Shona landed many roles after Muvhango in soapies like The Wild, Isidingo, The Queen, etc. Together with his wife, they founded Ferguson Films. They produced works like Rockville, Igazi, The Gift, The Throne, The Herd, The Queen, The River and The Imposter. He also made and starred in a Netflix series called Kings of Joburg.
On 30 July 2021, the actor succumbed to Covid 19 related complications. Shona had been hospitalized since 26 June 2021. He was laid to rest at Fourways Memorial Park. His wife’ Connie is carrying on his legacy through the work that they started together. His death was devastating to many. Everyone was in awe of how the man loved his career and his family and excelled at both. His relationship with his wife was envy to many.
