Makhadzi (real name Ndivhudzannyi Ralivhona) is over the moon as she gets nominated not once but three times at the Africa Music Awards (AFRIMA). The Murahu hitmaker went on social media to celebrate her nominations at the AFRIMA because it is her first time receiving these Awards’ nominations.
Makhadzi’s Three AFRIMA nominations
This 25-year-old singer got nominated for Artist of the year alongside Aya Nakamura (Mali), Blaq Diamond, Focalistic (South Africa), Burna Boy, Davido, Wizkid, Omah Lay (Nigeria), Diamond Platnumz (Tanzania), Fally Ipupa (DRC), and MHD (Guinea).
The second nomination is the Best Female Artist in Southern Africa alongside Shekina, Busiswa, DJ Zihle, Kelly Khumalo, Cleo Ice Queen, Nomcebo Zikode, Zanda Zakuza from South Africa, and Sha Sha and Tamy Moyo from Zimbabwe.
Last but not least, Makhadzi got nominated at AFRIMA for Best Artist, Duo or Group in African Electro for Murahu featuring Mr. Brown.
The other nominees are other hit songs like Natural love, Siyathandana, Xola moya wami, Yaba Buluku, Nkulunkulu, Coming, Ke Star (Remix), Addicted, and John Vuli Gate so the singer is elated.
Her reaction to AFRIMA Nomination
On her Facebook, Makhadzi said this about her AFRIMA nominations,
‘😭😭😭😭😭😭. Mafhungo avhudi hafheli 😭🥳Iam nominated for the first time in my career on AFRIMA AWARDS… and in the biggest category! ARTIST OF THE YEAR IN AFRICA. She went on to caption the picture of her nominations on Instagram, saying, “Aaa wee… can you believe this? We got 3 AFRIMA nominations. This is very big for me and a first; also, it’s an honour to get nominated along those legends. I appreciate everyone that’s been supporting my music.
